It has been stated that Marvel is auditioning transgender actors for the Daredevil: Born Again series, which is now being retooled for Disney+.

My informants initially told me last summer that Daredevil: Born Again was being retooled, and then the trades published what I had been told, which is that following the strikes, Kevin Feige is adjusting the series to fit it more closely with the successful Netflix series.

The adjustments have included bringing on a new creative team to manage the series, which has resulted in the episodes being reshot, but the overall storyline, from what I hear, remains intact.

What exactly are the details?

According to scooper Daniel RPK, transgender individuals will play key roles in Daredevil: Born Again.

The scooper reveals, via Twitter, that Marvel is in the middle of casting four transgender characters who will play a major role in one of the episodes.

If I had to speculate what's going on with the transgender roles, it could be related to the previously released storyline, thus spoilers may follow.

Potential spoilers:

The rumoured storyline is reported to involve crooked cops who work for the Kingpin. Kingpin is either running for mayor or has already won the election. So it appears that those corrupt cops put up White Tiger (a Black man), who is arrested for murder. It also appears that those cops employ the Punisher insignia (similar to law enforcement nowadays). So, if I had to guess, maybe the Kingpin and those nasty cops dislike transgenders.

Another probable situation I can think of is that Matt Murdock takes on the case of the four transsexual people, whatever that might entail.

Daredevil: Born Again has no release date but is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2025. Charlie Cox returns as the Man Without Fear, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson.
